#3 told me today that she wanted to be called Juliet, because Juliet is such a pretty name!
“But your name is so pretty” I replied giving her different nicknames as we drove along.
When we go home, I noticed her in front of the mirror:
“hello ELLA” she smiled at herself “hello Ella” she repeated, trying the name on for size.
“That’s my new name, mommy. I like ELLA!”

“Happy anniversary! Happy Anniversary!” screams the jumping 4 yr old “
“What’s an anniversary?” daddy asks
“I don’t know.”
“It’s a party to celebrate when mommy and daddy got married”
“That means there’s cake!” (big smile on face)
“No, not really…”
“Isn’t there a wedding cake?”

There is glitter on the floor. It follows a path from my bedroom door down the long hallway, into the living room, across the wine colored carpet to a piece of orange paper on the coffee table.
So I ask the 4 and 2 year old “Where did this glitter come from?”
“I don’t know”
“Who made this mess?”
“I don’t know”
“Who stacked the chairs, opened the cabinet and took out the glitter?”
“I don’t know”
“Are you lying when you say “I don’t know”?”
“Yes.”
They got sent to their rooms before I laughed.

The 8, 4 & 2 year old were sitting at the table eating and telling jokes. “Why did ____ cross the road? To get to the other side!” (giggles) After about 5 minutes of everything crossing the road, the 2 year old asks “why did the bottle cross the road” everyone in the room yells “why?”
“To get to the other side with the chickens!”

2 loves to rough house with his dad. He loves to hang upside down. There are always screams and giggles. So we found it amusing when he said: “Could you PLEASE let go of my ankles and put me down?”
We’re raising such polite kids!

In a lesson that I should watch what I say, my oldest (10) uses one of my favorite words when told she should go outside:
“What if it’s FRICKEN cold out there mom!”
Dad called her on the language. I couldn’t help it…I laughed.
